Auditions for Ghost Show Set for May 3

P&J PRODUCTIONS announces auditions for . . .

Formerly GHOSTS: The Musical
Book & Original Score by William Allen Jones

Auditions: May 3 – 2:00 pm

Callbacks: May 4 – 6:00 pm

Location: Star Performance Dance Academy, 899 Plank Rd. Suite #2, Duncansville, PA 16635

Anna Martin – Female, soprano – college age – The heroine of the story. Anna’s parents passed away and she inherited the theatre. She is bound and determined to see the Ravenwood restored to its former glory.

Elizabeth Hart – Female, alto – 25-35 years old – An Edwardian-age stage actress and the great, great grandmother of Anna, this ghost is refined and strong. The bond between her and Anna is the heart of the show.

Dooley O’Bannon – Male, tenor/baritone – 35-50 years old – This ghost was a vaudeville comedian. He is sarcastic and quick witted . . . but with a heart of gold.

Memphis Aaron – Male/baritone – 25-35 years old – The ghost of a Rock ‘N’ Roll singer from the 50s, Memphis is very “Elvis-like” and he is a hit with the ladies. This character is meant to be endearing not arrogant.

Winchester Sullivan Montague III – Male baritone/bass – The ghost of a Shakespearean actor from the late 1800s, Winchester can be a bit pompous, but his love for the Ravenwood and his fellow performers is evident.

Hilda Hess – Female, soprano – 25-45 years old – The only opera singer to ever perform at the Ravenwood Theatre, this ghost is kind-hearted . . . and a bit of a ditz!

Carmen & Astaire – Female, alto, Male, tenor – 20-30 years old – These ghosts are a brother and sister (twins) dance duo from the roaring 20s. Carmen is a sassy flapper while Astaire is fairly emotionless and speaks in a low, monotone voice. These two performers need to be dancers as they do a tap routine in the show.

Margaret Parsimony – Female, alto – 30-40 years old – The villain of the story, Margaret is a greedy, gold-digging real estate tycoon bent on destroying the Ravenwood so she can construct a mini-mall.

Dexter – Male, tenor – 25-40 years old – Margaret’s secretary and aide, Dexter is a sniveling “yes man”. He is snooty and vindictive and a perfect side-kick for the scheming Margaret.

Toby – Male, tenor – college age – Toby is a kind-hearted guy who takes an interest in saving the Ravenwood Theatre in part because of his attraction to Anna. He dons a ghost costume and performs with the Ghosts in Act 2.

Ghosts of the Ravenwood Theatre (Ensemble) – Males & Females – The ensemble are predominately dancers in this show so dance experience is necessary. Vocals are a plus but not necessary to be cast.
